The Eugene O'Neill Theater Center is a nonprofit organization in the performing arts, based in Waterford, Connecticut. Founded in 1964 by George C. White and named after America’s Nobel Prize–winning playwright, the center operates six programs: the O'Neill Playwrights Conference, Music Theater Conference, Puppetry Conference, National Theater Institute, Critics Institute, and it also preserves the Monte Cristo Cottage, O'Neill's childhood home in nearby New London, as part of its educational footprint.
