It operates in a downtown Salt Lake City campus and emphasizes practical, job-ready preparation, allowing students to earn an income while advancing their studies. The college is sponsored by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and situates its education within a framework of self-reliance in a Christ-centered environment.

Ensign College serves individuals seeking career-focused education and credentials that facilitate entry into the workforce. It positions itself in the higher education sector as a provider of shorter, outcome-oriented programs that combine certificates and degrees. In 2024, Ensign International launched a prison education program through a partnership with the Utah Department of Corrections, aiming to foster qualities such as discipline, integrity, and personal responsibility.
