EnGen is an early-stage biotechnology company pioneering a new approach to preventing and treating influenza. We're developing an effective, easy-to-manufacture, shelf-stable universal flu vaccine that confers long-term immunity to all Type A influenza strains—including those which cause seasonal flu and influenza pandemics.

Seasonal flu causes 250,000 to 500,000 deaths every year. The CDC and other experts have cautioned that we are extremely vulnerable to the catastrophic occurrence of a global flu pandemic—on a scale that could far exceed both COVID-19 and the Spanish flu of 1918. 

In its Global Influenza Strategy (2019–2030) report, the World Health Organization has declared the development of a universal flu vaccine as an urgent need—but the unique nature and genetic makeup of the influenza virus poses a challenge to researchers focused on influenza treatment and vaccination. 

To address these issues, EnGen Bio is developing universal vaccines for Type A flu prevention. Effective for vaccination in both the $6B human and $0.5B veterinary markets, our antibodies also demonstrate potential for therapeutic treatment of influenza, with an additional $2B prospective market. 

If successful, our efforts will eradicate flu pandemics and dramatically decrease the global burden of illness and disease caused by influenza.
