Empowerment Through Integration (ETI) is a nonprofit organization focused on fostering an inclusive society by addressing social stigma surrounding disabilities and empowering blind youth to shape their futures. Originating from a summer project led by founder Sara Minkara, ETI began with Camp Rafiqi in Tripoli, Lebanon, and evolved into a certified nonprofit that now offers a holistic program mix, including youth empowerment initiatives, university clubs, and training for local organizations. The organization operates through collaborations between its teams in Lebanon and the United States to expand empowerment and integration efforts in the Middle East while developing integration programs in the US, with Camp Rafiqi remaining a central facet of its work. Based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, ETI maintains a small organizational footprint and pursues its mission through a combination of camps, long-term programs, and capacity-building activities that raise awareness and support for disability inclusion.
