Education Travel & Culture (ETC) is more than just a non-profit student exchange organization; we are a dedicated family of employees, independent contractors, volunteers, and host families united by a passion for education, travel, and cultural exchange. Since our founding in 1998, we have been committed to offering high school students from around the globe the unique opportunity to study in American high schools while living with welcoming American families. Currently, ETC connects students from 18 countries with volunteer host families across the United States, fostering international understanding and goodwill. Our main office is in Portland, Oregon, and we have a vast network of local coordinators and volunteers nationwide who provide essential support to students, host families, and schools throughout the academic year or semester. As a proud member of the Council on Standards for International Educational Travel (CSIET) since 2000, ETC adheres to high quality and safety standards. We have been continuously listed on their advisory list since 2002 and have received the Darkness to Light Partner in Prevention distinction annually since 2015, reflecting our commitment to preventing child sexual abuse. Additionally, ETC has been honored with the Top Non-Profit Award in 2019 and 2020, recognizing our dedication to fostering enriching educational experiences and cultural exchanges.
