EcoTensil is a women-founded, California-based sustainable products company creating eco-friendly, compostable cutlery and disposable utensils that help food brands, retailers, and foodservice operators meet zero-waste and plastic-reduction goals, without sacrificing a terrific taste experience as with rough wood cutlery. Since 2010, we’ve been on a mission to replace single-use plastic cutlery with plastic-free, recyclable, and compostable paperboard utensils that are sturdy, space-efficient, and better for the planet. 

EcoTensil was born from a simple problem: to provide sustainable disposable utensils which offer convenient, guilt-free on-the-go eating for consumers, and are easily applied to single-serve food packaging by the manufacturers. Founder Peggy Cross, with decades of packaging design experience, invented the original EcoTensil out of necessity during a family road trip: yogurt > no spoons > cracker box > Swiss army scissors > kids happily eating yogurt. That idea evolved into an award-winning line of compostable paperboard utensils designed to reduce plastic waste while adding convenience and providing a much improved taste experience over wood utensils.
