The East Orange School District, based in East Orange in Essex County, New Jersey, operates 20 schools serving pre-K through 12 and educates about 9,000 students. It focuses on delivering high-quality education and on preparing students who have been historically underrepresented for post-secondary college and career opportunities. The district emphasizes 21st-century skills and maintains partnerships with parents, staff, and the broader community to support learning, with social media channels used to share progress, social issues, and program updates.

In June 2026, the district announced a comprehensive Clean Energy Project that includes new roofs, solar energy generation, and electric vehicle charging stations for school facilities. The district also pursues collaborations to expand opportunities for students and staff, such as a partnership with Chatham Hills Subacute Care Center to help students work toward becoming certified nursing assistants, and a job-embedded degree pathway with Drew University for teacher certification.
