Earth Trust is an environmental charity based in Little Wittenham, Oxfordshire, focused on caring for the landscape around Wittenham Clumps. For more than four decades it has restored habitats, nurtured wildlife, and promoted nature-friendly farming across the area, illustrating a living, working landscape where farming and nature support one another. Its programme serves as a place for nature and for people, welcoming thousands of children and young people to hands-on outdoor learning and offering spaces for visitors to walk, explore, and connect with wildlife, with volunteers playing a vital role. Its landscape preserves a sense of history, including the Iron Age hillfort on Castle Hill and other ancient remains that reflect long-standing human ties to the land. In 2026 it launched the Gateway to Nature project, aimed at improving access while preserving wildlife, signaling ongoing efforts to balance public engagement with conservation.
