Drive Clean Indiana is a nonprofit organization designated as the 71st Clean Cities coalition, part of the U.S. Department of Energy network that promotes affordable domestic transportation fuels and energy-efficient mobility. It serves the entire state of Indiana and is managed by Legacy Environmental Services, Inc., an Indiana Certified Women’s Business Enterprise, with Executive Director Carl Lisek leading the effort. The group is based in St. John, Indiana, and focuses on education, outreach, training, grant writing, and the development of stakeholder partnerships to advance alternative fuels, electric vehicles, and related infrastructure. To advance its mission, Drive Clean Indiana engages in education and outreach, training, grant writing, funding acquisition, project management, and partnership development. Its efforts are directed toward deploying alternative fuels, sustainable vehicle technologies, and charging networks, with the goals of reducing dependence on imported oil, improving air quality, and supporting local economic development and quality of life. In 2023, the coalition helped launch GOEVIN, a statewide electric vehicle initiative developed with the Indiana Department of Environmental Management.
