Officially established in 1970, the Clarence Brown Theatre has been a pinnacle of the southeastern theatre, attracting audiences from all over the world. We are a professional theatre located on the University of Tennessee Knoxville’s main campus with a goal to educate and inspire theatre students, audiences, and established artists. Over the years, the Clarence Brown Theatre has produced hundreds of professional-grade shows and community programs. From new works to Broadway hits, the CBT takes pride not only in our shows onstage, but in our consistent journeys offstage to bring meaningful productions to Knoxville and its surrounding communities for over 50 years.
