Cincinnati Youth Choir (CYC) is an educationally based choral organization in residence at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, serving youth across southwest Ohio, Northern Kentucky, and southeast Indiana. Founded in 1993, it engages more than a thousand children annually through a comprehensive continuum of programs for singers ages 3–18, including CCM resident choirs, neighborhood and regional ensembles, and community engagement initiatives. The organization focuses on musical excellence, personal growth, and community connection, supported by high-quality instruction and innovative programming. CYC has a history of performing with major regional ensembles such as the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, Cincinnati Pops, and Cincinnati Opera, and has toured nationally and internationally, appearing at venues including Carnegie Hall and St. Peter’s Basilica, while maintaining a strong emphasis on new music and commissioned works. Its activities include Cincinnati Choral Academy, Vivo Community Engagement, and Singabration Choral Camp, which broaden access to music education for underserved communities, with a mission to provide all children the opportunity to experience musical excellence in a creative environment.
