Central Synagogue is a Reform Jewish congregation based in Midtown Manhattan. It is affiliated with the Union for Reform Judaism and is one of the oldest and largest Reform communities in New York City and North America. The congregation serves more than 2,000 families and operates Nursery and Religious Schools with more than 800 students. Its clergy and members have historically taken leadership roles within Jewish and civic organizations at local, national, and international levels. It sits at the heart of a vibrant Jewish life corridor in New York and functions as a central hub for religious and community activity. In 2026, Central Synagogue partnered with Tikkun Olam Makers to collaborate across several university campuses and partner institutions, expanding its community engagement beyond the synagogue walls.
