The Central Nebraska Public Power & Irrigation District is a political subdivision of Nebraska created to develop the state’s irrigation and electric power potential for south-central Nebraska. It is based in Holdrege and serves the region along the south side of the Platte River between North Platte and Minden. The district delivers irrigation water to over 113,000 acres and operates four hydroelectric facilities—one at Kingsley Dam and three along its Supply Canal.
