Problem: 
Business owner came to us with a workers’ compensation issue – their company had many accidents over the last 4 years driving his experience modifier up so high, he couldn’t get workers’ compensation coverage in the open market. His only choice was to go with the state’s high risk pool. 
 
Solution: 
After analysis, we were able to find a PEO that wanted his business, offered a very favorably priced program which included some shared risk (a reasonable deductible) and honored a 1.0 experience modifier. So even though their NCCI Mod was 1.78 (or manual rates times 178%) this PEO offered them a 1.00 mod saving the company in excess of $98,000 and after any service charges.
