The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) is India's national standard body operating within the government administration, based in Delhi. Its core mandate is to formulate and certify Indian Standards, with flagship schemes such as the ISI Mark and the Hallmark for gold jewellery, as well as certifications for ISO 9000, ISO 14000, and HACCP.
