Brooklyn Industries is a United States-based retail company founded by artists Lexy Funk and Vahap Avsar after they moved to New York City in 1995. They began by making messenger bags from recycled billboards in a Williamsburg, Brooklyn studio, later expanding into T-shirts and other clothing for the local community. The business grew through wholesale distribution across the United States, Japan and Europe, and opened its first store on Bedford Avenue in Williamsburg in 2001; the company now operates from the Brooklyn Navy Yard, with eight stores in New York City, one in Chicago, plus an online storefront. 

Operating in the retail industry, Brooklyn Industries offers bags and clothing across multiple consumer segments via wholesale and direct-to-consumer channels. A notable 2017 development was a limited edition t-shirt release designed with Pratt Institute students for the Prospect Park Alliance's 150th anniversary.
