Brave Software develops a user-first web platform in the technology and internet sector, centered on its Brave Browser, which is used by more than 112 million people worldwide. The browser blocks third-party ads and trackers by default to deliver faster, more private browsing and includes features such as a VPN and an AI browsing assistant. Brave also operates Brave Search, an independent index that powers AI-enhanced answers while safeguarding user privacy, and offers a commercial API for real-time web data.

The company is based in San Francisco, California, and was founded in 2015 by Brendan Eich and Brian Bondy. In 2026 Brave expanded into continental Europe, opening offices in France and Germany and appointing senior ad sales directors to lead the expansion.
