The Board of Certified Safety Professionals is a not-for-profit organization that certifies the technical competency of safety professionals and supports their everyday work in public safety and occupational health and safety. Since 1969, it has issued more than 100,000 credentials, building a long-standing credentialing program. It provides exam preparation resources, free materials to raise safety skills, and avenues for professional development and networking to accompany practitioners throughout their careers. Based in Indianapolis, Indiana, BCSP operates in the public safety and EHS space, serving safety professionals and the organizations that employ them by establishing standards and validating competency. In 2025, BCSP launched Mentor Connect to pair experienced safety professionals with those at earlier career stages, reflecting an initiative to deepen ongoing professional development.
