ASICS is a company that has been dedicated to creating the world's most technically advanced athletic footwear and products for over 60 years. All the technology, functionality and comfort present in our sneakers first appear in the minds of passionate people who work within our offices spread across different countries. HISTORY In 1949, Mr. Kihachiro Onitsuka founded his sports shoe company (Onitsuka Co., Ltd.) by manufacturing a basketball shoe in his own living room in Kobe, Japan. He chose the name ASICS for his company in 1977, based on the famous Latin phrase "Anima Sana In Corpore Sano", which when translated, means "A sound mind in a sound body". ASICS was founded on the belief that the best way to create a healthy and happy lifestyle is to promote health and well-being. In Latin America, our trajectory began in 2007 with the opening of the first ASICS subsidiary in São Paulo. Today there are more than 16 own stores in Brazil, a successful e-commerce operation and business partners. From Brazil, operations in Chile and Colombia are coordinated with local offices and, soon, own stores and e-commerce. Everything was only possible thanks to a team of people passionate about the power of movement in all areas of life.
