Named for an Italian company "Arco" and an American "International  Globus Group" bought out and unified in 1990, AGI is best known for its activities in the oil business in the 1990s and beginning of the 2000s. AGI is also widely recognized for its assistance in the extensive refinery upgrading of the post Soviet Union oil refining infrastructure.
