AMHC is a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) offering integrated mental health and substance use treatment services that empower individuals to recover and enhance their overall quality of life. With more than 60 years of dedicated service, AMHC is the largest behavioral healthcare provider in the region, operating 27 service locations across Aroostook, Hancock, and Washington counties. The agency annually supports up to 5,500 clients, with a team of 350+ employees delivering a comprehensive range of services in mental health, substance use, crisis, sexual assault, prevention, brain injury, and programs for adults with intellectual disabilities.

AMHC is committed to an integrated, patient-centered approach in all services, characterized by a high degree of collaboration among community and health professionals and led by the client as the focal point of all services.

Services can be accessed by calling the AMHC Call Center at 1-800-244-6431. Most insurances are accepted, and a sliding fee schedule based on family size and income is available. No one is denied services due to an inability to pay, and several programs offer free services.

AMHC is a National Health Service Corps (NHSC) host organization and a designated Recovery Friendly Employer, joining the Northeastern Workforce Development Board’s Recovery Friendly Employer network, making visible AMHC’s commitment to offering a healthy, safe, and stigma-free work environment to eliminate barriers to recovery for those impacted by addiction.
