The American Coal Ash Association (ACAA) is a nonprofit trade association established in 1968 and based in Farmington Hills, Michigan. It focuses on recycling materials produced when coal is burned to generate electricity. Its members are leading experts on coal combustion byproducts, including fly ash and bottom ash, boiler slag, and flue gas desulfurization gypsum (FGD or synthetic gypsum), as well as other emissions-control materials. The organization operates within the utilities sector, connecting professionals and organizations involved in the management and reuse of these byproducts. In December 2025, ACAA participated in the Construction Materials Carbon Progress briefing in Washington, D.C., highlighting its members' role in concrete production alongside slag cement industry stakeholders.
