Alexco Resource Corp. is a mining company focused on developing high-grade silver in the Keno Hill Silver District in the Yukon, Canada. The district has historically produced more than 200 million ounces of silver at an average grade around 1,250 g/t. After starting commercial production in 2011 and operating until 2013, the company paused output due to declines in silver and base-metal prices; exploration discoveries at Flame & Moth and Bermingham subsequently added more than 20 million ounces of silver to its indicated resource base, supporting a renewed multi-mine plan with a longer life and lower all-in sustaining costs. In 2017, the company outlined steps to restart operations in the district in the second half of 2018, beginning with underground work at Bermingham, advancing Flame & Moth, and recommissioning surface facilities while continuing nearby exploration. Beyond its mining activities, Alexco operates the Alexco Environmental Group, its wholly owned division that provides mine-related environmental services, remediation technologies, and reclamation and closure services to government and industry clients. The company is based in Vancouver, British Columbia.
