ALEA's mission is to efficiently provide quality service, protection, and safety for the State of Alabama through consolidated law enforcement, investigative, and support services. The agency is located at 201 South Union Street, Montgomery, Alabama 36104, United States, and employs between 201 and 500 people. In 2025, ALEA launched an automated platform unifying appointment scheduling and lobby management, accessible from any device; in 2026, its Driver License Division received the 2026 AAMVA Service Award for Customer Convenience at the Region 2 Conference in Austin, Texas.
