Young Musicians Foundation (YMF) operates in the primary and secondary education space, delivering music and media arts education to underserved K-12 students in Los Angeles. By integrating social-emotional learning with state core standards for the visual and performing arts, YMF aims to provide access to the lasting benefits of music education for children and youth who are frequently marginalized. The organization serves schools and community groups, reaching thousands of students annually and offering introductory instruction in music creation for younger participants and more advanced production and songwriting techniques for older students. Based in Los Angeles, YMF has established partnerships, including a recent collaboration with Hollywood Community Housing Corporation to create a new, tuition-free music arts program and a recording studio within an affordable housing project. The foundation describes itself as mission-driven and focused on social justice, with a program model designed to prepare students to participate in the creative economy through hands-on, project-based learning.
