The Global Environmental Governance Project is a collaborative initiative between Yale's Center for Environmental Law and Policy and the College of William and Mary. It seeks to strengthen global environmental policymaking by producing research that crosses traditional disciplinary boundaries and informs policy processes at the international level, including those within the United Nations system. The work blends theoretical framing with empirical analysis to produce findings that are directly relevant to policymakers and diplomats. Based in Washington, DC, the project operates with a small team within the environmental services sector. It serves as a central repository of environmental governance information accessible to scholars, researchers, students, policymakers, and diplomats. Knowledge produced by students at Yale and William and Mary informs its ongoing activities.
