Yad Ezra is a nonprofit organization based in Berkley, Michigan, that provides kosher food and related essentials to families experiencing poverty in Southeastern Michigan. Since its founding in 1990, the group has expanded from serving about 250 families monthly to assisting an average of around 1,600 families (nearly 3,600 individuals) each month, delivering groceries, health care items, and household goods, and offering foods appropriate for Jewish holidays. The organization operates within the non-profit sector focused on food security and support for the Jewish community, addressing financial burdens tied to reliance on government assistance programs. Its services are targeted at impoverished families in the region, helping them access regular food provisions and holiday-related items. A recent leadership change included the appointment of a new executive director in 2021, reflecting ongoing organizational development.
