WSRE-TV operates as a non-commercial, viewer-supported public broadcaster for the Gulf Coast, delivering educational, cultural, and public affairs programming. It airs content from PBS, regional partners, independent producers, and its own productions, with a focus on children's programming, culture, science, and documentaries. The station serves a diverse audience across Northwest Florida and South Alabama and provides public outreach services that extend its impact beyond the screen. About 70,000 households tune in weekly. Based in Pensacola, Florida, WSRE-TV began broadcasting in 1967 and is licensed to the District Board of Trustees of Pensacola State College; its 43,000-square-foot facility includes three studios for local productions. In October 2024, Okaloosa Applied Technology Center partnered with WSRE-TV Foundation, Inc. to host Amazing Kids Day, an autism-friendly event for children and families.
