Worldwide Documentaries was founded in 1985 as a 501 (c) (3) not-for-profit documentary film company whose three fundamental goals have remained unchanged for more than 25 years:
CREATE carefully crafted documentary films for global audiences about the defining human rights issues of our time.
EMPOWER individuals and organizations who advocate for fundamental human rights through our International Partner Program.
SUSTAIN the impact of our films through distribution strategies that reflect our commitment not only to specific human rights issues, including apartheid, global AIDS, immigration, and human trafficking, but the underlying and related causes of these abuses as they unfold and evolve in our lifetime.
Worldwide’s Academy Award®-nominated work has been sponsored by many of the world’s leading foundations, corporations, and government agencies, often with repeat grants that reflect our reputation for reliability, transparency, and the effectiveness of our non-profit business model.

The filmmakers at Worldwide Documentaries believe there is no better use of the powerful and compelling medium of film than to put it at the service of the human family: to tell our stories; confront our challenges; and ultimately bring us together through shared knowledge and common experience.
