Working for Worcester is a nonprofit organization based in Worcester, Massachusetts, that mobilizes college students to improve recreation infrastructure and opportunities in city neighborhoods. The group began in 2012 when Holy Cross students Jeff Reppucci and Derek Kump sought to connect campus life with the broader Worcester community. It coordinates volunteer efforts to repair or create spaces such as parks and playgrounds that were missing or in disrepair. Since its inception, the program has helped build more than 23 playgrounds and has influenced work at more than 180 sites around Worcester. As a small to mid-sized nonprofit, it operates within the sector to expand neighborhood access to recreational spaces, using student volunteers to address local needs.
