WISE of the Upper Valley is a nonprofit organization based in Lebanon, New Hampshire, serving 23 towns in the Upper Valley region of New Hampshire and Vermont since 1971. It provides crisis advocacy and support to people affected by domestic violence, sexual violence, stalking, and trafficking. The organization operates interconnected programs, including Advocacy, Community Education, Youth Violence Prevention, Forensic Interviewing, and Legal Services, that address safety, legal needs, and prevention.

Its services include a 24-hour crisis line, on-site emergency housing and housing advocacy, safety planning, and in-person advocacy at the WISE Program Center as well as at police stations, courthouses, hospitals, social service agencies, and Dartmouth College. WISE works with youth, professionals, and the broader community to develop education and prevention strategies, and it provides training for medical, legal, and law enforcement professionals to respond effectively to survivors’ needs. The organization operates with a modest staff and aims to engage everyone in learning to recognize and eliminate the root causes of violence in the New Hampshire-Vermont region.
