The Wichita Symphony Orchestra is the largest professional orchestra in Kansas and is based in Wichita. It serves the community through a mix of live concerts, educational initiatives, and partnerships across the region. Its repertoire spans traditional symphonic milestones, bold contemporary works, film scores, and collaborations that blend genres, aiming to present experiences that connect audiences with the music and with one another.

Education and access are central to its mission, with programs for youth ensembles, school and community engagement, and family-oriented offerings. The organization emphasizes community impact and collaborates with partners to reach diverse audiences in the Wichita area. A recent development includes a partnership with the Wichita Parks Foundation to present a free, all-ages event called Playing Across the Parks.
