Whatcom Land Trust is a nonprofit based in Bellingham, Washington, dedicated to preserving wildlife habitat, scenic landscapes, farmland, and open spaces in Whatcom County for future generations. Over its history, the trust has safeguarded more than 24,000 acres of shorelines, parks and farms, wildlife habitat, and forests, including 11,000 acres in the Lake Whatcom watershed. Its work serves residents and partners in Whatcom County, addressing the need to preserve ecosystems, protect agricultural lands, and maintain open spaces by collaborating with diverse community and business stakeholders. A recent development includes a partnership with Ridewta and the Whatcom Million Trees Project to preserve local forested lands and wetlands.
