Weiss Advocacy Center is a small Flint, Michigan-based nonprofit formed by the merger of two established Genesee County child welfare organizations, the Consortium on Child Abuse and Neglect and the Child Advocacy Center. The organization operates as a 501(c)(3) in the individual and family services sector, focused on protecting and supporting children affected by abuse and neglect. C/CAN, founded in 1974, has developed education and prevention programs to address child welfare in the community, while CAC established a dedicated space for children to share their stories with a single, attentive adult. The center provides a safe, child-centered environment for interviews and assessment, facilitating a coordinated response to cases of abuse. In 2017, Weiss Advocacy Center partnered with Chipotle Mexican Grill to support local kids in Genesee County.
