The Waterloo Regional Police Service is a law enforcement agency serving the Waterloo Region in Ontario. Based in Cambridge, it provides policing across the municipalities of Kitchener, Waterloo and Cambridge and the townships of Wellesley, Wilmot, Woolwich and North Dumfries, making it the seventh-largest police service in the province. The organization comprises more than 1,200 officers and civilian staff and serves a region with about 565,000 residents. Its core aim is to strengthen public safety and quality of life by working with the community on crime prevention and by providing assistance to those in need. Recent developments include the launch of CAMSafe, a centralized database of privately owned security camera locations intended to support investigations and community collaboration. The service also pursues partnerships with educational boards and initiatives such as #NotInMyCity to address sexual exploitation and human trafficking in the region.
