Washington Water Trust is an environmental services organization focused on improving and protecting stream flows and water quality in Washington to benefit agriculture, fisheries, and wildlife. Since 1998, the organization has worked to restore stream flows that support fisheries, water quality, and recreational resources in the Northwest, drawing on 30 years of collective experience in water rights due diligence and water management alternatives. Its services include executing water right donations, sales, and leases; negotiating projects for Washington's Trust Water Program; designing water management alternatives; and managing water rights assessment and mitigation. The organization also helps leverage funds from multiple programs to support projects benefiting stream flow and provides confidential consultations on a wide range of water management questions. It maintains a network of partnerships with landowners, irrigation districts, agencies, and other stakeholders to facilitate stakeholder engagement, changes in water use, and education and outreach. Based in Seattle, Washington, the organization operates as a very small team, and in January 2026 partnered with the University of Washington to create capstone internships and consulting projects addressing local water challenges.
