The Washington Association for Community Health is a private nonprofit membership organization founded in 1985 and based in Olympia, Washington. It aims to strengthen and advocate for Washington’s community health centers as they work to expand access to care, foster innovation, and improve value. The association supports Washington’s 27 Federally Qualified Health Centers by providing training and technical assistance directly and through collaborative partnerships to help deliver comprehensive, high-quality medical, dental, and behavioral health care in alignment with national health strategies. A central program, In-REACH, develops and administers apprenticeship tracks for medical assistants and dental assistants, combining didactic education, skills practice, and on-the-job training within CHCs and private health systems in Washington. The organization also coordinates or supports other workforce initiatives identified by its Board of Directors to address evolving needs in the health care workforce.
