Vulcan Information Packaging, operating also as Binders.com and NAPCO USA, is a packaging and containers manufacturer based in Vincent, Alabama. The company traces its origins to 1947, when EBSCO Industries formed Vulcan Binder & Cover to produce single-copy magazine binders for medical waiting rooms; the name honors the 55-foot-tall Vulcan statue atop Red Mountain near Birmingham. Its first facility was in West End, Alabama, and a 70,000-square-foot plant in Vincent later became the headquarters, expanding to about 200,000 square feet. In 1997 the firm changed its name to Vulcan Information Packaging, and it broadened its product lines through acquisitions in 2013 of American Thermoplastic Company and Four Point Products, a supplier to the college bookstore market. In 2017, NAPCO acquired Vulcan, combining manufacturing capabilities to broaden the range of custom packaging offerings; NAPCO is based in Sparta, North Carolina, and the company maintains three websites to reflect its capabilities (binders.com, vulcanpackaging.com, napcousa.com).
