Vinik Sports Group, based in Tampa, Florida, is a private entity established to oversee the Tampa Bay Lightning and to hold the leasehold rights to the downtown arena where the team plays, a 19,092-seat venue that opened in 1996. The arena was renamed Benchmark International Arena in August 2025 after Benchmark International partnered with Vinik and the Lightning. Since 2010, the group has led a broad brand and business transformation of both the team and the venue, largely through private renovations of the publicly owned facility.
Through its TBSE umbrella, VSG also manages the Yuengling Center on the University of South Florida campus, expanding its scope beyond the NHL franchise. The organization has pursued collaborations to improve guest experience and attract events, including a 2025 strategic partnership with Oak View Group to enhance the Amalie Arena experience.
