Veterinary Specialties Referral Center (VSRC) has been providing comprehensive diagnostic and surgical procedures for pets in the greater Albany, NY area since 1990. 

Founded by board-certified veterinary surgeon, Joseph C. Glennon, VMD, DACVS, VSRC was the first specialty and referral practice opened in The Capital District. 

Since then, under Dr. Glennon's leadership, VSRC has led the way, providing the most progressive surgical options for pets throughout the region. Our specialists work closely and collaboratively with referring, primary care veterinarians to ensure all patients receive the most appropriate treatment and follow-up care. 

Veterinarians can think of VSRC as a surgical partner offering minimally invasive, neurologic, oncologic orthopedic, reconstructive, and soft tissue surgeries. Our team keeps you informed about your patients’ progress and helps supplement your clinical services. We provide overnight monitoring of all hospitalized patients, and our surgeons are on call 24/7. Emergencies need not wait. We will get your patients in quickly so you can trust that your urgent cases will be seen in a timely manner. 

State-of-the-art imaging technologies onsite assist us in diagnosing and planning surgical procedures, including digital radiography, computed tomography (CT Scan), and PennHIP and OFA evaluations.
