The Vermont Youth Orchestra Association (VYOA) is a performing arts organization based in Colchester, Vermont, dedicated to developing young people as artists, citizens, and leaders through instrumental and choral experiences. It serves students of diverse ages and backgrounds through three orchestras, two choruses, string training programs, community initiatives, and summer camps, with a mission to foster musical excellence and a broad appreciation for the arts. All programs operate from the Elley-Long Music Center at St. Michael’s College, and the organization provides more than twenty performances annually at venues including local theaters and schools across the state. The VYOA emphasizes access and inclusion through its Music Inspires program, which partners with area after-school initiatives to offer group lessons, coaching, instruments, and performances at no cost to students and their families or schools.
