Its primary role includes leadership, administrative oversight, and marketing for noncredit offerings, credit outreach, and the summer session, as well as advising adults who wish to enroll as University Special or Guest Students. Each year, tens of thousands of learners participate in hundreds of noncredit classes, workshops, and conferences that focus on professional development, personal enrichment, career transitions, and educational advising. Based in Madison, Wisconsin, the division supports UW–Madison schools and colleges in identifying and serving nontraditional audiences and extends its reach to communities across the state and nation.
