Utah Open Lands is a nonprofit environmental organization that serves as Utah’s largest non-profit land-trust conservation association. It works with private landowners, government agencies, and communities to conserve open spaces in perpetuity, using title acquisition or conservation easements to protect lands with agricultural, scenic, recreational, historic, and wildlife values. Founded in 1990 in Summit County and expanding to a statewide presence by 1995, the organization is based in Salt Lake City and has preserved over 60,000 acres to date. In 2024, Wasatch Gardens partnered with Utah Open Lands to place a conservation easement on a property to safeguard it from future acquisition by other entities.
