Université Côte d’Azur is a higher education institution based in Nice, France, operating as an experimental university since January 1, 2020. It substitutes the former Université Nice Sophia Antipolis (founded in 1965) and the Communauté d’Universités et d’Etablissements Université Côte d’Azur (established in 2015). The university functions as a regional hub for education, research, and innovation, bringing together multiple disciplines to advance knowledge and its practical application. Situated in the Nice area of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region, it collaborates with industry and public partners to strengthen the region’s capacity for knowledge-driven action. Through its Foundation, it launched Le Cercle in March 2026, a forum intended to connect business leaders, academics, patrons, and institutional stakeholders around the shared objective of aligning knowledge with regional impact. In April 2026, Université Côte d’Azur was reported to be active in ten disciplines out of 55, reflecting an expanded academic footprint.
