USC Upstate is a public regional university based in Spartanburg, Spartanburg County. Founded in 1967, it operates as part of the University of South Carolina System and is accredited by SACSCOC. The institution offers more than 40 undergraduate and graduate programs across liberal arts and sciences, business, nursing, and education, serving a student body of about 5,000 with roughly 1,300 new graduates each year and a network of some 30,000 alumni. Located at the crossroads of Interstates 85 and 26, the campus sits in a regional setting connected to an international business hub between Atlanta and Charlotte.
