The University of Nevada Press is a small publishing unit within the Nevada System of Higher Education based in Reno, Nevada. It operates under a mandate from the state legislature and the Board of Regents to publish high-quality works that advance scholarly research and illuminate regional history and culture for academic and general readers. Publications are produced with fiscal discipline and high standards of editorial, design, and production, with the goodwill of Nevada's citizens, readers, and authors described as its most valuable asset. In late 2025, the press partnered with the City of Reno to launch eduroam, a secure Wi-Fi service, at public locations across the city. A follow-up partnership in mid-2026 expanded eduroam to about eighty sites in Washoe County, further extending access to public institutions such as libraries and community centers.
