UC Davis Health Informatics Graduate Group administers an interdisciplinary program that blends health care and technology to prepare students for roles in clinical care, leadership, or research. Its faculty affiliates span the Division of Health Informatics and multiple departments across the School of Medicine, the School of Nursing, the College of Engineering, the Departments of Computer Science and Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering, and the School of Veterinary Medicine. The curriculum covers topics such as clinical research informatics, electronic health records, simulation and modeling, clinical decision support, security and privacy, personal and mobile health, imaging and geographic information systems, and public health and population health, providing access to a broad range of systems and data at the health-technology interface.

Graduates enter a variety of sectors—including universities, medical facilities, industry and government—filling roles such as faculty, researchers, engineers, and policy professionals, with mentorship from a lead research professor and an academic advisor guiding research and degree progression and offering research or teaching assistantship opportunities.
