The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is a comprehensive academic health center serving as a hub for medical education, patient care, and research in Arkansas. Based in Little Rock, it brings together colleges of Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Health Professions and Public Health, a graduate school, a hospital, a northwest Arkansas regional campus, and a statewide network of regional centers. The institute comprises seven specialized entities, including the Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute, the Myeloma Institute, and the Harvey & Bernice Jones Eye Institute, among others. It also operates as the state's only adult Level 1 trauma center, underscoring its role in urgent and advanced clinical care.
