Trean Group provides professional clearing, execution, consulting and brokerage services for individuals, institutions, professional traders, pure hedgers, farmers, electronic traders and floor traders. The Trean Group story begins in the mid-2000’s when Nancy Stubenrauch, co-founder of Trean Group, managed Hammer Trading, a division of the now-defunct Refco. It was during her tenure at Hammer Trading that Nancy met and formed close working relationships with the other future Trean Group co-founders Pete Kosanovich and Stephen French. Following the bankruptcy of Refco and its purchase by Man Financial in 2008, the three of them began talks of branching out. Talk turned into action in 2010 when Pete, Nancy and Steve left MF Global (formerly Man Financial) to launch the Trean Group, in order to best serve their existing client base. Whether it’s brokerage execution, clearing expertise, business relationships, or futures market knowhow each member of Trean Group adds a different personality and distinctive skill set.
