The Town of Huntersville is a municipal government in North Carolina that operates under a Council-Manager system, with a mayor and a board of six commissioners. It serves a community of more than 60,000 people and maintains staff across six departments, including Administration/Finance, Engineering, Public Works, Parks and Recreation, Planning, and Police. Incorporated in 1873, the town sits in the Charlotte metropolitan area and provides local government services to residents and businesses. 

It collaborates with the Huntersville Fire Department, Lake Norman Economic Development, and two enterprise-funded organizations, Electricities and Huntersville Family Fitness and Aquatics. In May 2026, Mecklenburg County and the Town of Huntersville opened a permanent Veterans Services office in the new Huntersville Town Hall.
